செப்டம்பர் 18. உலக மூங்கில் தினம். 2009-ம் ஆண்டு பாங்காக்கில் உலக எட்டாவது மூங்கில் மாநாடு (world bamboo congress- WBC) நடந்தது. அன்று முதல் இந்த நாளை உலக மூங்கில் தினமாகக் கொண்டாட முடிவு எடுக்கப்பட்டது. அதனடிப்படையில் ஒவ்வோர் ஆண்டும் இந்தத் தினம் உலக மூங்கில் தினமாகக் கொண்டாடப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
